How to Bulk Add Webflow CMS Items from Text Using AI
Content often arrives as plain text rather than a clean CSV or Excel file. Turning that text into CMS items means separating the content, matching it to the right fields, checking the data, and then creating every item.
Smart Sync CMS can handle that workflow directly from text.
From Text to 46 CMS Items
In this example, I needed to add 46 quiz items to an existing Webflow CMS collection.
Instead of preparing a spreadsheet, I pasted the content directly into the AI Text field in Smart Sync.
The app reads the content and prepares it according to the structure of the selected Webflow collection.
This means one block of text can become multiple structured CMS items without copying each value into Webflow manually.
AI Text Uses Your Existing CMS Structure
The important part isn't simply generating text with AI.
Smart Sync already knows the fields available in the selected Webflow collection. The incoming content can therefore be prepared for the actual CMS structure it needs to enter.
For a quiz, for example, that can mean separating content into the fields used by each quiz item rather than treating everything as one large text block.
The result is structured data ready for review.
Review Everything Before Syncing
AI-generated or AI-structured data shouldn't go directly into a CMS without being checked.
Smart Sync includes a review step before anything is written to Webflow.
You can see the prepared items and check what the app is about to create or update. The validation workflow also surfaces errors or warnings before the sync begins.
Only after reviewing the operation do you start the sync.
The Full Workflow
The process in this example is:
- Select Webflow collection → Paste text → AI prepares the data → Review 46 items → Validate → Sync → Webflow CMS

When Is AI Text Useful?
This workflow isn't limited to quizzes.
It can be useful whenever content needs to become structured Webflow CMS data but isn't already prepared as a spreadsheet.

If the data is already available in CSV or Excel, Smart Sync also supports structured file imports. AI Text is useful when preparing that file would create another unnecessary manual step.

The goal isn't to let AI make invisible changes to a website.
Smart Sync uses AI to help interpret and structure the incoming content. You still see what will happen before anything reaches Webflow.
